Veronica Titus- American Sign Language
Hello ASL Students and Families,
My name is Veronica Titus and I have been teaching ASL since 2021. I am extremely passionate about ASL but also passionate about the Deaf community and their culture. I have earned a Bachelors in Science in ASL interpreting from William Woods University. I have been working with children in a high school setting since 2018 and I am thankful for the opportunities that have led me to becoming a teacher at FHS. Being involved in the Deaf community and culture as an interpreter first, has gifted me with insight that I’m able to apply in the classroom. ASL is a rich language with grammatical structure, culture and community. ASL would be nothing without the Deaf community and I make sure that the classroom dynamic is surrounded by that understanding. I do this by making sure that students understand the importance of equality, acceptance and inclusivity. It is important that the classroom is a safe space for all the students. I look forward to getting to know each of you and hope that my passion inspires you!
